Contract Solar Thermal Installers (fitters/plumbers)

The role is for the installation and commissioning of domestic solar thermal systems.

We are looking to establish a number of teams to operate principally in Sussex and in the N.E. London/Essex area, however if you are based between these two areas you may be considered. As part of a small multi-skill team, the teams’ responsibility will be to fix panels to the roof, complete pipe runs and installation of the pump station, expansion vessel, replacement storage cylinder, sensor control panel wiring and commission the system and to provide the customer with basic guidance on system operation.

Some fault finding and maintenance of existing solar systems will be required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

For fitters

Practical experience of roofing and building works (Minimum 2 years on site experience).

NVQ level 2 qualification, Working at Heights training and CSCS card

For plumbers

Solar DHW Heating BPEC Certified

Water supply (water fittings) BPEC Certified

Un-vented hot water systems Certification

Electrical -Domestic Installer Scheme Qualification

Ideally:

Prior experience of solar thermal systems, and people with a mix plumbing building and electrical skills would be ideal, though we will be aiming to recruit teams with the right mix of skills.

Working hours may be variable and occasional overnight stays may be required. A full clean driving licence is necessary.
