The Installation Process - External

Roof access   Remove tiles  
   
1. Necessary lifting & safety equipment is errected
(either ladders or scaffolding).
2. Measurements are made and tiles removed.
   
Strengthen battens   Fix brackets  
   
3. Timber battens fixed to joists (if required). 4. Brackets fixed to battens.
   
Rails attached   Replace tiles  
   
5. Rails attached to brackets. 6. Tiles cut, if required to fit around
brackets, and replaced.
   
 Header attached Tube holders attached  
   
7. Header fixed to rails. 8. Tube holders fixed to rails.
   
 Tubes inserted Secure tubes  
   
9. Tubes inserted and locked into the header. 10. Tubes additionally secured with rubber clips.
   
 U-bend fitted and insulated  Flow and return fitted
   
11. U-bend inserted, secured with clips,
and fitted with an insulated cover.
12. Flow and return pipes inserted.
   
 Pipes secured  Sensor inserted
   
13. Flow and return secured with clips. 14. Temperature sensor fitted with connection
for pipework.
   
Pipework External work completed
   
15. Pipework is passed through a vent tile or a
suitable flashing and connected.
16. External installation completed.

Internal Installation

Connect to solar pump unit   Connect all equipment  
   
1. All pipework is connected to the solar pump unit. 2. The solar pump unit is connected to the pre-installed
dual coil cylinder. Also expansion vessel fitted and controller.
   
Check pressure   Pump fluid
   
3. Vessel pressure checked and adjusted. 4. An anti-freeze mixture is pumped around the
system using a floor standing pump.
   
Set system pressure   Flow rate checked  
   
5. System pressure set. 6. Flow rate checked, and adjusted if required.
   
Installation finished.
